What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is described as a heightened state of concentration and focused attention. We spend much of our day moving in and out of a hypnotic state. It is often compared to a state of deep relaxation, mediation or restfulness. This state is similar to daydreaming or the feeling when one is in between being awake and asleep.

A Hypnotherapist will guide you into this subconscious state in order to help you work at this deep, healing level. You will be able to access your deeper patterns of limiting beliefs. This allows you to reframe these limiting beliefs and form new thought patterns and habits.

Will I lose control during a Hypnotherapy session?

No. The client is awake and aware and in control throughout the entire session. You are able to move, talk, remember and make decisions. We are simply working at the subconscious level, similar to a deep meditative state.

What will happen during a session?

You will come to the session in comfortable clothes and ready to be in a relaxed state for 90 minutes. The first 20 minutes involves a brief intake, the rest of the session is experienced in a hypnotic state. It is recommended that you are in a comfortable chair, couch or lying down. It is best to remain undisturbed during the session and therefore must organize your schedule accordingly.

Will I be able to work after the session?

Yes. You may be tired or have some heightened emotions after the session. I recommend you give yourself 30 minutes after the session to refresh.
